A Short Film About Dignity and Decision

"The white line of the crosswalk is more than paint:
it's a border between hurry and humanity."

The Story

In the streets of Santo Domingo, a delivery motorcyclist faces a decision that thousands make every day: speed up when the light turns red, or wait? This cinematic short film follows a young Dominican worker on his delivery motorcycle, navigating the dense traffic of Avenida 27 de Febrero. When he arrives at a crosswalk just as the light changes from yellow to red, he must choose between time pressure and respect for traffic rules.

The Decision

His decision to stop—even backing up his motorcycle to completely exit the crosswalk—becomes a silent act of integrity. When an elderly woman crosses the street and thanks him with a smile and a thumbs up, that small gesture transforms his time sacrifice into a moment of human connection and moral validation.

Cinematographic Style

Filmed with a social realism aesthetic inspired by the Dardenne brothers and Ken Loach, this short captures the dignity of the urban worker and the small moral decisions that define our character. Combining aerial drone shots, immersive POV perspectives, and documentary cinematography, it presents Santo Domingo with authenticity and respect.
